OK, the end of the holidays is approaching, that’s for sure … but you may still have a few days left to enjoy it, the opportunity to go away for another weekend or at least to plan (it’s good for morale) a few days in the south of France, for example… |

In Boulbon centre, a charming little village in the Montagnette, perfectly located between Arles and Avignon, lies the Casa de Boulbon. Five nicely and simply decorated rooms, including a family suite, welcome those who wish to extend their summer holidays a little longer. There is a swimming pool, a patio, a garden and a roof terrace with a view of the Château and the rooftops of Boulbon. It’s also a good address to remember if ever next year you want to go to the Festival d’Avignon. It’s close by and much less stuffy than the city… And then there’s the famous Boulbon quarry which offers shows every year as part of the Festival. In any case, the boss’s name is Eddy and he’s adorable.

A few weeks ago I told you about a place near Paris to rent for a party or a wedding, when I discovered Les pieds dans l’eau, I also thought it might be good to organise something there. It’s in Saint-Rémy de Provence where I don’t often go though it’s near my home in Tarascon. It’s a large and beautiful old house in the city centre transformed into a restaurant, brasserie, pastry shop, café. It’s still pretty much as it was, so it’s full of charm, with its high ceilings, stone staircases and wood panelling. In the front and back yards, tables with umbrellas are set up. It’s therefore an ideal place to go for a coffee, have lunch or organise a party.

And, oh dear, in this place, there is even a shop, that of Jeanne
Bayol, a Saint-Rémoise celebrity who sells clothes, accessories, decorative objects, often Indian. She also has another store in a large shed outside the village. Jeanne and her husband are renovating old trailers and have even written a book about these pretty vehicles, but that’s another story. In any case, if you’re in the area, come and see this building Les pieds dans l'eau because it’s so much fun.

In a previous letter, I told you about my annoyance with ugly and modern store fronts. Well, here are some more examples of pretty windows that we still and fortunately see. The first is in Tarascon, the second in Avignon. These are old shops that have just been renovated. It’s beautiful, isn’t it ?

Well, if you can’t go (again) for the weekend, you can at least keep up the aperitif ritual … you’ll feel a bit like you’re on holiday ! I found these pretty bottles of syrup at Lissip. You know me, it was the packaging that first attracted me, but they happen to be also very good and the mixtures are original : Orgeat-Orange blossom-Coriander, Lemon-Lime-rosemary , Ginger-Apple-Hibiscus … well, there are lots of them, all natural and made in France. You can find them in many stores, but you can also order them online.

In the last box, there is also something to extend the holidays a little with a pretty red-chequered tablecloth from Maradji, perfect for a picnic, an “À table ! ” game from Minus editions which will delight young and old by offering them original topics of discussion and fun challenges, and finally a pretty lipstick from the mythical brand Rouge Baiser. And then, there are six golden tickets for the lucky ones who will be treated with brunch at Yannick Alléno’s Pavyllon, a lovely address to enjoy a few more days of sunshine.

For next week, I’m preparing a few special ‘back-to-school’ but still slightly ‘vacation’ look ideas, looks that help keep your spirits up while getting back to work… In the meantime, I wish you a very good week and I look forward to seeing you next Thursday.
