Far from me to want to compete with the Michelin Guide or the Fooding, but it so happens that in this letter, I have brought together several restaurants that I recently discovered. So if I'm well aware that you won’t test them all this week (will you ?), you can print this letter and the next time you're looking for a cosy and good restaurant, you don't you won't have to look very far. Also, as I tend to digress a bit, I added some nice initiatives organised by friends that seemed interesting to report to you. Finally, I couldn't resist giving you the address of a clothing store that I find super pretty. |

There were too many people to take more photos, but in the series typical Parisian restaurant from another era with NOT revisited but very traditional dishes, I recommend : Chez Denise, 5 rue des Prouvaires. We can easily imagine the atmosphere at the time when Les Halles was next door ! It once belonged to... Denise and her husband. It has since been taken over by a large group, but fortunately the spirit and authenticity have been saved! Which is rather rare, so it seemed appropriate to note it.

Here is a restaurant, La Belle Étincelle, which is not only good but also has the merit of hiring young people with disabilities. The whole team is the age of our children and full of energy. So if you pass by their neighbourhood (boulevard Pasteur), do not hesitate to stop, the atmosphere is ultra warm. I take this opportunity to give you the link to a collection organized by my friend Lilou, godmother of the Ninoo association (association supporting families of children with autism). They offer fun and creative activities every month (visits to exhibitions, workshops, etc.) for all children, whether they have ASD or not.

And since I'm about it, here's another great initiative from the Helen Keller Europe, association, which has been working for a long time to prevent avoidable blindness and malnutrition problems in children around the world. They are organising a concert on May 11 at the Olympia with singer Lura, whose voice reminds Cesária Évora. A great evening for a good cause !

The other day, I went to lunch at Aux Deux Amis, 45 rue Oberkampf, I think it's very famous and there are certainly a lot of people in the evening, but had never heard of it. In any case, I love the decor which is that of a very authentic old bistro too. The dishes are exquisite and the employees adorable, I highly recommend it. Thank you Paul for introducing me to this place ! I will also tell you about the project of Paul who has his office right next door in a future letter.

Then again, just next door I also remembered a multi-brand store that has lovely clothes often made in India, like those from the Injiri line, and perfect for summer. Besides, these are things that we always keep beyond fashion : very elegant & cheerful. Oh sorry, the shop is called Onze and you have to guess at which number of rue Oberkampf it is... a clue : it's 300 m away of the Two Friends. I was in a bit of a hurry that day, but there's a lot to see, big embroidered dresses in very fine cottons, indigo jackets and trousers and many things in a bright yellow that we often crave in the midsummer. There are also Hannoh Wessel's clothes which are hard to find and are beautiful even when crumpled up. In short, Madame Onze buys very well and there are more than eleven things I wanted !

In the April box you will find a very thin bangle, I find the irregular finish quite charming. It comes from Elise Tsikis and is gilded with 24 carat yellow gold. And for pretty hands, I added a bright red nail polish from Manucurist, made in France with biosourced ingredients, and a Sæve cream with fresh organic birch sap. Your hands will be soft and cheerful ! Finally, 5 golden tickets will be slipped at random in the boxes and the lucky ones will win a pair of loafers of their choice from G.H. Bass that I love so much.
