The end of year celebrations are a good excuse to talk about evening clothes, because in fact, we need dressy outfits all year-round. Personally, I always feel like I have nothing to wear for these occasions. So in this letter, I’m making a few suggestions that I hope will help you find a solution.

We tend to go for complicated looks, but we’re often wrong because the important thing is to feel good, look pretty and above all, not overdressed. La Redoute (when I say keep it simple !) understands this well and offers dressy but ultra simple clothes like this black sequin jacket that will make your outfit festive no matter you wear with it. A little more sophisticated, but still just as simple, this long golden dress, slightly slit at the front, which is definitely very comfortable to wear, but is bound to make a big impression. Another alternative, this black sequin dress with a small neckline in the back, super easy to put on too. My favourite is this short black velvet polka-dot dress which I think is just perfect, even if it will probably suit my daughters better than me. Needless to say, these clothes are very reasonably priced, which is pretty good considering we don’t go out every night. |

Continuing with the sequins which have the art of transforming any garment into a dressy outfit, these pants from Esprit are also perfect. With a tie at the waist like jogging pants, you can wear it with a white or black shirt, a t-shirt, a tank top, a big sweater, they will definitely look good. Ditto for this gold sequin top, easy to slip under a jacket and wear with whatever you like. |

| And some clothes, depending on how you wear them, can also be used for several occasions. It is the case with this black dress, a sort of ultra-simple but perfectly cut babydoll. You can wear it alone or with a little velvet jacket to make it more ‘casual’ as our Anglo-Saxon friends say. But if you wear it with a hand-embroidered jacket, then you’ll look extremely chic ! |

Same principle with these little velvet pants hand-embroidered with pearls that I spotted at Azad, a pretty Parisian brand. You can wear it with a nice blouse and a velvet backpack, hey why not ?! Or with a sailor top,
for a completely different look. But you can also pair it with a large silk blouse (choose in a large size) for a very refined look. In short, with pants that are a little unusual and dressy, you can come up with a multitude of ideas. You’ll see, you won’t regret buying them. |

Well, if dressy outfits aren’t really your thing, you can opt for a pretty jumpsuit. It solves all your problems, since you don’t need to think about finding a top that goes with a bottom and vice versa. There are all kinds of them, but I found a great one at Bobo Choses (yes, they make women’s clothing now !), another in navy velvet and a last one in khaki. Depending on the situation, you can accessorise them as you like : wear them open or closed, with sneakers or heels, with an evening bag or a basket… |

In this last box, I’ve tried to bring together some special Christmas items : a watch, because it makes a great Christmas present. des Thés tea, with gourmet flavours because at Christmas, it’s cold and we need to be comforted.
