I am quite proud to say that he was a reader of this letter, but above all a very great friend : Georges Kiejman whose memoirs Pardon d’avoir survécu have just been published by Flammarion. At a time when anti-Semitic acts are resurfacing even in France, the story of this little boy hidden during the war and who was to become one of the greatest lawyers in France, spiritual son of Pierre Mendès France and minister, is absolutely moving. As Georges Kiejman liked to say ‘We Berrichon Jews’, with his humour as formidable as his crystal clear thinking and refined language, appears sincere, wounded, touching, brilliant in this book and leaves a trace of a great man. |

| To make things easier for you, I’ve spotted several gift ideas in the Smallable store, so you can go there directly or order on their website and save a lot of time. To start, I made a selection of gifts for little ones. Sometimes, they’re so small that we tend to give gifts that their parents like, that’s okay, we’ll make up for it in later years. Let’s start with these Petit Boum bottles that I find so pretty. Designed especially for babies (three months and over), they allow them to discover colours, sounds and capture their attention. I love the idea. Then, there are cuddly toys in very soft fabrics or crochet rattles, night lights in funny shapes, small brushes & combs in a faux sheepskin pouch or even totally irresistible knitted slippers (an example of a gift that parents love). |

For little ones who want to be big, I’ve spotted this sublime suitcase on wheels that comes in many colours and that we’d love to steal. At Nailmatic, also found at Smallable, there are lots of amazing stuff : very funny bath bomb that wash and colour the bath water (just to ruin the family bathtub for good), bunny-shaped soap kits to make in and all kinds of varnishes with or without glitter, with or without stickers, but that are all sooo beautiful ! |

For the older kids, it’s always a little more complicated because we’re often afraid of being completely off the mark and coming across as old ‘boomers’ … but I still spotted a nice, simple fabric backpack, a watch that tells more than just the time and which comes in khaki, a radio cassette for fans of the ’80s (I hear those years are very fashionable with young people), a wooden alarm clock for the more eco-friendly, a special decorating book for small spaces (great when you’re moving into your first studio) or even books on the most beautiful vacation destinations for globetrotters. |
